The Brief

We often achieve great results for clients straight away. At the same time, we want to make sure that the results we generate aren’t a one-off achievement and that our improvements compound over time to really accelerate growth and profitability.

In our second year working with Kingsley Smythe in collaboration with Pink Fish Associates on their Google Shopping Ads we set ourselves the challenge of improving the revenue generated after a very successful first year. These were high expectations to meet, given the results achieved in the first year and the challenges of selling luxury items during a cost-of-living crisis.

Despite hopes from the client to just maintain the current high level of results in a tough climate we aimed to build on the existing achievements, setting ourselves the challenge of improving on the year before and further maximising revenue.

Our Approach

We had a year of experience and data to utilise in generating sales for our client and this helped us in many ways, including:

  • Data for Google to use in its algorithm to make sure our Ads were shown to engaged buyers
  • Knowing which copy and imagery worked and didn’t work to sell the products
  • Website tracking to develop customers profiles that assisted in the targeting of Ads

By combining the knowledge and understanding into our Google Shopping Ad campaigns we could run a more focused set of campaigns that had the best chance of success in terms of revenue and ROI.

The Results

Despite the tough economic climate, we managed to achieve fantastic results that even surprised us.

  • 51% of Website Revenue were from Ads
  • Google Shopping revenue up 66% YoY
  • 41% increase in Ad sales YoY

 Ads were performing so well that we sold all the client’s stock and had to pause the Ads. This created a different problem for the client but showcases the power of a well-run and efficient Ad campaign in generating sales. Luckily our client was quick to restock, and we quickly got the Ads up and running again.
